It's All About Vienna
The holiday blues are a cruel sickness and it became infectious post our Thailand/Dubai adventure it was too long google searches became of the 'cheap flight' nature and the next thing you know I am on a flight to Vienna the Austrian capital. Spoiler warning now Vienna is the best European city I have ever visited, we started in the heart of the city at St. Stephen's were we climbed the 343 steps of its south tower to catch a greater glimpse of its beautifully patterned roof consisting of over 200,000 colored tiles. From Cathedrals to amusements parks on the other side of the city lies Prater, packed with Viennese charm at the parks entrance is the Wiener Riesenrad Ferris wheel. With the handcrafted red carriages, it truly feels like your stepping back in time and is a wonderful way to get the best panoramic photos of the city.
Some of the other highlights of the trip had to be Schönbrunn Palace which ended up being so much more than we expected, none the wiser we arrived to see the royal summer residence. Only to find out there was also a full hedge maze and a zoo but not just any zoo this was the oldest zoo in the world! The final sweet treat is a visit to Cafe Central made famous by its patron customers including the psychologist Freud, Trotsky the Russian revolutionary and Stalin. I would highly recommend their hot chocolate cake, as I would in any desert situation.
