It's All About Summer School
I go to a sixth form that is joined onto Holly Lodge Girls
College, where I went to secondary school. This summer they put on a
summer school, for the girls making the transition from primary school to
secondary. It consisted of two weeks, where the girls would come in and do activities
around the school such a drama, English, and art, Also everyday there was an
external activity where the girls could go on a trip. My Duke of Edinburgh
leaders where running these trips, so me and two friends who also do D of E where
roped into helping. We had so much fun, we basically acted think 11 year olds
for the week, getting to know the girls and to settle any worries they had about
starting secondary school, and hopefully we did a good job! We did things such as dragon boat racing,
which I had never heard of before but I really enjoyed it, if you ever have the
chance, have a go! The second day we went on a mini hike to Rivington Pike to
promote D of E to the kids, we also went ice skating, and back to Rock and
River for the day. It was such a fun two weeks and these are my favourite photos
Enjoy Hannah xxxx
